A message of hope, support, and advocacy from our practice
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness, encourage appropriate screening, support women facing breast cancer, and remember those whose lives have been touched by this disease.
Breast cancer is personal to our practice.
Dr. Mercier completed his residency at Duke University, and our practice has maintained a deep appreciation for the expertise and specialized care available through Duke's breast cancer teams.
Although we are not formally affiliated with Duke, we believe strongly in helping our patients find the care that is right for them. When a patient is facing breast cancer, we want her to have access to physicians and teams with extensive experience specifically in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
Donna Mercier is one of those patients. She receives treatment and follow-up care at Duke and has experienced firsthand the importance of having specialized physicians and a supportive team throughout her breast cancer journey.
That personal experience has strengthened Donna's passion for helping other women.
When appropriate, Donna works with our practice to help Dr. Mercier's patients connect with breast cancer specialists at Duke. Her hope is that patients will feel reassured knowing that they have options and that someone is helping them navigate what can be an overwhelming time.
Our commitment is simple:
We want to help our patients find the right expertise, the right team, and the support they need when facing breast cancer.
We believe caring for our patients means more than treating an illness. It means listening, advocating, guiding, and helping patients find specialized care when they need it.
This October, we stand with every woman affected by breast cancer—with compassion, hope, and support.
You don't have to navigate this journey alone.
